Can I just say.. It's so frustrating the lack of options for nursing friendly tops for plus sized bodies. Even brands that say "for every body!" And I go and check and they only go up to XL.. Really..? I know there's latched mama but I've purchased a few things and felt.. meh. Also it's expensive. I ordered some tops from old navy. We'll see. I also bought some tank tops that aren't necessarily nursing friendly but whatever. It's just annoying. With my older two there were like little to no options(10 years ago). I guess I expected better now a days! Rant over. Thanks for reading š«
I have a 38 gallon livebearer tank (mollies, least killifish, and guppies) that was starting to get overrun with fry. Picked up a pair (m/f) of paradise fish to help with the population. I have read very conflicting info with these guys ranging from mostly community safe to highly territorial, mine being the latter, unfortunatly. In less then 12 hours, all 40+fry are gone and I have a feeling they will turn on the adults. Have a 15 gallon that I can set up but the question is, should I keep them as a pair or seperate the male and leave the female in the 38?
2023.01.28 21:57 robito99Advice for a golden dojo loach
Hi there! I just joined this subreddit today, and wanted to make a post for advice. Just recently moved into a new house and I'd love to eventually set up a tank with a golden dojo loach. I've always found them to be fascinating. The issue is that, due to my disability, I could probably maintain a 10 gallon tank fine, but I'd have a hard time cleaning and maintaining a 20 gallon, which is what I've heard dojo loaches do best in. If that's the case, are there similar species that would be happy in a 10 gallon, or would a dojo loach do okay? In the past I've had a 6.8 gallon tank with a bumblebee Betta, and after he passed after two years, three pearl danios.
Hey everyone! I just started a 20 gallon aquarium. I conditioned and let it run for a couple days before I introduced fish. I currently have 2 black skirt tetras, 1 white skirt tetra, and 3 glolight tetras. My question is, my glolights are just hiding in a corner. Idk if they are even getting food. How do I get them to be more active? Do I need to add more glolight tetras? I want to eventually have a community tank and want to introduce a gaurami and some neons so I donāt want to overpopulate the tank. Thanks for the help!
I have a 33 gallon tank I plan to make bioactive. I am doing research but I am having trouble determining which plants are best for a corn snake. I am still learning so no substrate or plants have been bought, hoping to have everything ready for a baby within a couple weeks. I ask this because I understand corn snakes need an enclosure that is less humid, so I am wondering which plants would do well in the enclosure & if anyone can suggest substrate mixes I would appreciate it!
2023.01.28 21:47 2019h7402019 Observation: Red and Blue Waves are Over
This became too long to proofread so I'm sure I've made my share of mistakes. I'll probably read it through later in its entirety. Here goes: ----- Hi all. I like the concept of this sub and I'll have more than a few angry observations of my own to contribute. First of all, my username was concocted some time ago - probably in 2019, I guess - and 740 has always been my lucky number. Hence the username. I realize it looks like a spam account, but you'll have to trust me on this one that it isn't. As a Floridian I know I see political developments differently than those in many other parts of the country, and I'm sure it affects my takes. In the Central part of the state I'm in, Rockefeller Republicanism doesn't exist, and if you're a Republican, you're either a Trump Republican or a DeSantis Republican. If you're a Democrat, you're a Democrat. And then there are a ton of people in between who aren't registered with either party and don't really care. I'm a registered Independent, but I'm here because, of course, I care. My point is this: I realize I'm bringing a unique perspective to the table compared to the scores of y'all from the Northeast, Midwest, or Pacific Coast who have seen politics shift the opposite way the last four years compared to what I've seen. Entire political events such as the anti-Trump movement that have swept Northern America don't exist here. On the other hand, I think I'm in the state that's producing many of the political movements, particularly on the right, that will at least partially sweep the country during the coming years, even if they don't ultimately cause changes in D.C. What I've witnessed from afar is the shift in size of midterm waves over the course of the late 20th to early 21st centuries. I'm citing this as evidence that true swing voters are in decline and will soon be virtually nonexistent. Increasingly, the factors driving differences between election results are demographics and turnout - and these will, in the long run, favor the Democratic Party unless the GOP shifts its strategy. And critically, I don't think the GOP will shift its strategy as the two-party system has required parties to do in the past. But let me get to the data. The current political era, I think we'd all agree began in 1994 with the Republican Revolution. For those who weren't around in those days, 1994 was the year the Republicans, under the leadership of Newt Gingrich, shifted their focus toward capturing the House and Senate in order to politically paralyze Bill Clinton's presidency. Prior to this, Democrats had controlled both chambers almost without interruption since the election of Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1932. I'm going to use House elections for data here, as of course Senate elections do not take place in all fifty states at once, causing the figures to be inconsistent from year to year. But the decline in swing voters since the Republican Revolution is present, with the Republican share of the vote slowly but consistently in decline since 1994. Here's what I'm going to do to illustrate my point: I'm going to compare vote share in the Presidential race to the House election result two years later. So if Mickey Mouse won by 5% in 1992 and then his party lost by 2% in 1994, the "shift" was 7% because we're looking for voters who liked a presidential nominee, then soured against him and voted against his party - those famous "midterm backlash" voters. So here goes:
1994: R+6.8. Republicans picked up 54 seats. The majority of flips took place in the South and rural Midwest, regions that have remained a core Republican constituency ever since. That said, they also controlled seats such as Delaware's at large district, several Maryland and New Jersey seats, and they gained control of several seats in Washington state, demonstrating both the elasticity of voters at the time and the heights from which the GOP has since fallen. But keep in mind that the white population in the U.S. was 80% at the time vs. 62% now.
Shift from 1992 Presidential: 12.3%.
1996: D+.07. Democrats gained 3 seats. Here's where the modern political map first emerged. Republicans picked up seats such as Montana at-large in exchange for losses in California and the Northeast. But what's more remarkable is the level of ticket-splitting here. Bill Clinton won his home state of Arkansas by 17% while Republicans won the state's Senate election by 5.4%.
1998: R+1.1. Nothing to see here.
2000: R+0.5. On the surface, the election result here appears simple: almost every voter voted straight-ticket, so Republicans only narrowly won the popular vote. But a closer examination reveals otherwise: Democrats won 3 of 4 Arkansas House seats, Democrats maintained control of 2 of West Virginia's 3 House seats, and Republicans held all their Orlando House seats. (Spoiler: Bush didn't win either Orange or Osceola Counties.) The fact the top-line results of the nationwide House election resembled those of the Presidential election was something of a fluke, as local analysis shows inconsistencies between the two votes.
2002: R+4.8. 9/11 clearly had an impact here, but still, look at the difference between 1994 and 2002. In 1992, Clinton won by 5.5% followed by a 6.8% loss two years later = 12.3% shift to the GOP. In 2000, Gore "won" by 0.5% followed by a 4.8% Republican win two years later = 5.3% shift to the GOP. And here's my point. A good couple percent of swing voters eight years ago were baked into their political parties by this point.
2004: R+2.6%. There continued to be massive partisan gaps between House Representatives and the President. Democrats won North Dakota by 19 points while Bush won the state by a whopping 27.4% on the same ticket.
2006: D+8.0%. The most recent tsunami we've seen. This is when the House map came to look as it does today with Democrats capturing almost all seats in the Northeast and a smattering of WWC districts. But look at the topline figure. Bush won by 2.4% in 2004, so the shift across two years went 10.4% against the President's party - an impressive figure but, critically, 2 points less than the 12.3% shift that occurred under a far more popular president from 1992 to 1994. Relative to 1994, Bush's performance here wasn't disastrous given how unpopular he was becoming by this time.
2008: D+10.6%. The effect of running a steaming pile of pants (McCain) as the Republican Presidential nominee against the popular Obama.
2010: R+6.8. Thanks to McCain's disastrous performance two years earlier the shift from 2008 Presidential to 2010 House is the largest we've seen yet. (I was surprised to discover this.) T'was a 14.0% shift toward the GOP. But let's not forget: this was during a recession. People were voting based upon the paycheck and the swing from McCain was the maximum swing Republicans could possibly achieve.
And note the +6.8% PPV victory is the exact same vote margin Republicans achieved in 1994. In other words, despite Obama being president in the middle of a recession and being quite unpopular by this point, Republicans did no better than they had done while opposing the presidency of Clinton - a president who presided over a period of rapid economic growth, high government popularity, and the downfall of the Soviet Union.
2012: D+1.1. Notice how we're seeing few non-straight-ticket voters by this point. With very few exceptions, the 2012 House map matches the 2012 Presidential map. The recession-based turnout swings of 2006-2010 had worked themselves out of the system by 2012 and we're now seeing what I'd call the beginning of the end of the swing voter.
2014: D+5.7. I remember 2014 being described as a red wave, but was it? Republicans gained a mere 13 seats in the House. The shift from 2012 Presidential was 9.6% - substantial, but less than the shift from 2004-2006 (10.4%) and less than the shift of 12.3% from 1992 Pres to 1994 House. The midterm backlash hasn't collapsed yet, but it's about to fall off a cliff.
2016: R+1.1.
2018: D+8.6. But Democrats won the PPV by 2.1% in 2016 so the shift here is a mere 6.5%. See what's happening? An inconsistent trend, but it's there: declining numbers of split-ticket voters who vote for one party for President and other two years later for the House - the classic "midterm backlash."
2020: D+3.1.
2022: R+2.8. A shift of 7.3. That's more than 2016-2018, but not by much. And that shift is isolated to two states: Florida and New York. Outside of those two states, shifts were small in 2022.
Due to a shortage of years available for data collection, the trend isn't obvious. I don't think I can draw a graph on Reddit too easily, which a shame, but I'm sure if I did, a trend is there. The "midterm backlash" voters have been slowly but steadily declining since 1994. What does this mean in the long run? I think it means increased partisan division... But, you'll ask, what about Sununu and DeSantis - or even, if we want to take this to the extreme, Phill Scott - who won over so many voters to their party? Surely they remobilized swing voters? Let's look at each case individually. In Florida, Republican voters have poured into the state from up north, and Charlie Crist was a terrible candidate. In the case of Sununu, he's taken some ideological positions that mark him out from the bulk of the GOP. I think we'd all agree that the GOP's base largely consists of socially conservative voters. Yet Sununu is known for his association with the LGBTQ Log Cabins faction of the GOP. My point: voters here aren't actually swinging to the GOP. Rather, a fraction of socially moderate or progressive Democrat voters prefer Sununu to an economic leftist and make a one-time exception to their politics and vote Republican at the state level. In other words, the "Tea Party GOP" which has dominated Congressional Republican politics over the last 10 years - combined with Trumpism when convenient - is dying across most of the U.S. The days when Paul LePage won Maine are over... There are institutions today that prevent the "sneaky" Republican Tea Party victories of the early 2010s. Democrats have built a mail-in voting machine in states such as California, Colorado, and the Upper Midwest. Trump self-sabotaged the GOP with polarizing language and utter failure to deliver results for the white working class. Almost every newspaper, local or national, and almost every academic institution, either openly supports Democratic Party candidates or is comprised of members who do. It's simple: if almost every respected - if that word even applies in such a divided nation - institution in America backs the Democratic Party and sees the GOP as an existential threat to the democracy, there is no way for the GOP to win long-term control and roll the clock back as far as its policy agenda is concerned. Trump, particularly with his activities on January 6th, has eased along this process, but there's a more important fundamental here: apart from the occasional Red year like 2022, Republicans won't be able to win elections due to infighting, widespread institutional support for the Democrats, and an effective Democratic Party get-out-the-vote effort. There's a flipside to this. Those "respected" institutions - by which I mean the academic system, ABC, CBS, NBC, etc., think tanks apart from the Trumpy ones, government agencies, Unions, the list goes on - have virtually no political impact on nearly half of America. Here in Florida, where public schools (and even colleges) are obviously pretty careful to avoid any political stances on any issue, the bulk of the population either watches Fox News or no news at all, and DeSantis is looking to replace federal government presence with state government presence, there's really no way for these institutions to reach the everyday citizen. So Democrats can't make big gains either. Ultimately, the result is Republicans and Democrats living in completely separate bubbles, even if weren't for the existence of Facebook, Twitter, and TikTok, which only reinforce these differences. There is one factor in Democrats' favor, though - demographics. White voters traditionally vote Republican, and minorities vote Democrat. That 19% shift away from whites in America will continue, probably at an increasingly rapid rate given the statistics and the rise in immigration post-Trump, so the Republican base is stagnant while hundreds of thousands of new potential Democratic voters arrive here every year. In addition, most college-educated voters - particularly white ones, which is an important fact - are Democrats, and this is reflected in the shift even on subs here, with the latest YAPms census putting out that astonishing figure of D+37 regarding the sub's partisan lean. So Republicans are losing ground even among whites with the next generation. What I'm saying is this: Republican gains will become smaller and smaller and, at some point, providing immigration continues and whites continue to go to college, Democrats will break through and capture the entirety of the federal government and many state governments, and there will be a sort of "Bloodless Revolution" in America. But it's some way away yet. For now, there remain enough enthusiastic Republican voters peeling off other demographic groups (particularly Hispanics such as Cubans) to barely prevent a true Democratic trifecta (control of Congress, Presidency, and the Courts). Republicans have been lucky so far in SCOTUS, but at some point their luck there will end, too, and Democrats won't have the SCOTUS problem on their hands anymore. For now, I think people will continue to dig into their own camps as they've done over the past thirty years. But sooner or later, assuming current trends continue, that will come to an end and it is my opinion that Democrats will emerge from this Party System as the victors.
2023.01.28 21:42 nwin23Tank recommendations for getting back into the hobby?
Getting a 20-29 gallon tank soon so I can share the hobby with my kids. Iād love to do saltwater again but I donāt have the time or desire to mix saltwater, so freshwater it is! Are there any good aquarium kit recommendations (lights, filter-all in one kit) you recommend?
2023.01.28 21:37 Top_Jellyfish3149Why is my gecko shedding so much?
I was given two geckos (they're separated now, both in 40 gal tanks each!) and one has shed very often. She finished shedding two weeks ago, shed again this past week and it now looks like she's getting ready to shed again. I've got her tank at the right temp and humidity, but I'm thinking it's her diet. Before I got her, she was only eating mealworms. I've since fed her both crickets and mealworms (more crickets than mealworms) and have ordered dubia roaches. Ive fed her only 2-4 times a week, as recommended by her vet. Could it be her previous diet? I've also changed a lot from their original set up. They were both in a 40 gallon tank together with only a few hides and on carpet. I've got them actual substrate now and many more hides + plants, as well as using a liquid calcium supplement in their water (& calcium powder suppliment on live feeder insects). Overall she looks pretty happy and healthy, but is there anything else I can do?

2023.01.28 21:35 Merdfrog1Just got this 125 gallon tank. I have the fluval fx4 canister filter. Will this be enough or do I need sump/protein skimmer? It's still early enough to return the canister filter. Any other advice is welcome too.
2023.01.28 21:35 NightmareCandy22Nerite Snail is dormant
Hi, I have a 5 gallon planted tank with 3 guppies and I have a nerite snail. I got him about two weeks ago from petsmart and for the first few days he was acting normal. But then he stopped moving and hasnāt come out of his shell, wonāt eat, and doesnāt travel around the tank. Iāve tried putting him in a separate tank with food on his own away from the fish to see if they were bothering him, he wouldnāt eat at all still. Iām not sure what to do. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Iām also wondering if iām feeding him the proper things, I gave him some boiled egg shell for calcium, he hasnāt touched it though, and algae wafers iāve tried giving him. I also feed my guppies peas sometimes and have tried to give him that before and he wouldnāt eat it either.
2023.01.28 21:31 TudeWorried about my new betta - reddish lines alone fin bases, body
Is he ill, stressed, etc? He just started getting these reddish lines along the fin lines today. I believe the "hole" looking things at the base of the tail are just reflections from scales, but they are hard to see, even in person. I worry that he may have come from the store with an illness, since his top fin has some fringing to it at times. I had thought it was just damage or low temperatures, but it could be something worse, correct? Sometimes it straightens out a bit but often looks a little tattered. I got him about 3 days ago and unfortunately have to cycle fish-in, but I've been very fastidious, using BB and everything, cleaning the tank daily, all as described in the wiki instructions. He's in a 5 gallon tank. I currently only have ammonia test strips (getting the recommended full water test kit today) but they claim that it's at 0. Other issue is that the heater I bought is only heating to 77 for some reason, so I'm going to replace it with an adjustable thermostat model by tomorrow and get it a little higher. I've also removed one of his silk plants today, since it was too tall and interfering with his ability to find food at the surface, so I suppose that could stress him somewhat. He still has multiple other hidey holes and plants that he likes more anyway. He started out a very pale yellow and has been gaining this beautiful orange color lately. I just hope the reddish line thing isn't indication of a problem... Thank you https://preview.redd.it/2hzolyvs3uea1.jpg?width=1697&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ca613ee36e5cf8fc93587edd16fe0506477090ba https://preview.redd.it/5lstryvs3uea1.jpg?width=2270&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=32cf630fa0ff249a7dde623d05c88a3159da0311
My Betta I just got a couple months ago will not eat. He has good chemistry in his tank, 10 gallons. Had some Cory friends, we make sure his food has variety and he is showing no signs of sickness. He just started not moving as much and stopped eating, now has trouble swimming and hasn't eaten for 8 days.
I have a 75-gallon brackish water tank with several hundred Opae Ula and a few dozen MTS. Since setting the tank up and populating it, I have been finding thin worms that I have come to find out are parasitic horsehair worms. I had a few people tell me they would likely die out since the water parameters aren't suitable for them. Fast forward six months, and I am still finding them. I haven't noticed any infected/dead shrimp or any decrease in their population. In fact, their population continues to rise steadily. However, I have noticed that I can't seem to keep my MTS population up. This is odd to me as this environment should be heaven to them. I believe the worms are infecting and surviving off of the snails. I know there aren't any easy solutions to this issue. At this point, I am considering buying a new tank and transferring my shrimp, then completely cleaning out the current tank and repurposing it for something else. I was wondering if anyone else has dealt with these worms infecting snails and, if so, what solution they found to get rid of them.
š·Guide I hate guides and i hate people but i love Guinevere and i'll do anything to promote her so i decided why not write a guide? I saw some other guy doing it so i'll copy parts of his format. š·I. About me: I started mlbb over 3 years ago and i immediately fell in love with Guinevere but i wasn't very good at the game so i quit playing her and i rerolled to mid lane as i play to win and in soloq mid lane gave you the best chance to win back then. I am not a Guinevere main and i did not spend money on the game until Guinevere got her legendary skin (i had bought only 2 skins before that for other chars). Since then i've been giving them money for anything Guinevere related, including to their alt game "mobile adventure" where i also have her skins. Needless to say, Guinevere best waifu! I've also started playing her again recently and in the past multiple seasons i've had 75-80% winrate in rank (mythical glory but i started playing her beore i reached it) My overall winrate with her is lower though because of my initial games with her when i first started the game. That would be around 72% II. Pro's and Con's. Why should i pick Guinevere? She's the best fighter in the game and i'm not taking No for an answer. The last buff she got was a complete game-changer and it covers almost all her previous weaknesses. She is really good now with the marks. I'm kinda amazed she isn't more popular but i guess that's because people don't understand how to play her or because they simply dont really want damage coming from the exp lane. She's meant to kill people and it's understandable if you want a tankier exp laner where she wouldn't fit but at the same time i still think she's drastically underrated by soloqeueuers and pros alike. Pros:
Best waifu. Your entire team will play better because they'll be happy to have you in their team
The highest amount of high quality skins out of all chars in the game/amazing skins.
Incredibly high damage.
Incredible mobility
Some of the best sustain in the game
High potential
Extremely fun to play cus of her design
Probably the best 1v1 char in the whole game. If played correctly, auto-wins vs almost all chars in mlbb with little effort.
Has superarmor in her kit.
Can be anywhere on the map, extremely hard to predict. If your enemy is not tower hugging they should be dead, else you're playing her wrong.
Carry potential/infinite damage as her damage is not tied to cooldowns or skillshots
Cons:
requires extensive game knowledge and game sense and mechanical skill to utilize properly.
does not scale well with defensive items and while she can be played with them, you'll lose a lot of her efficiency and potential, forcing you to build damage and generally limiting your itemization.
as a fighter you will often have to engage or force plays which will end up with you dead and if your team is really bad you can lose some games with a bitter feeling inside but this is a role issue.
If you make a mistake early game this could set you back really far and it could turn you from a scary carry to a semi-support with damage.
Has a very hard time pushing the base/ending the game/sieging or fighting near towers in general
III. Skills:
Passive/Super Magic Hit a bunch of times to fill your bar and then you'll get an enhanced basic attack that dashes to your target, heals you and does increased damage + applies a mark on the enemy: This is what makes or breaks a good Guinevere player. Mastering her passive is the most important thing to play this hero correctly. I will expand on this in the gameplay section below.
1st skill/Energy Wave: High damage low cooldown skill that slows the enemy and reduces your cooldowns. You pretty much need to spam this every few seconds even if you're not in fights just so you can reduce your cooldowns. Very straight forward
2nd skill/Spatial Migration: An aoe knockup/CC with extremely high range that can threaten the enemy's backline and spells near certain death if it hits. However, you're not actually going to rely on this skill hitting much in order to be good at Guinevere. If you do hit it, take it as a bonus "oh look a free kill". The second part of this skill is a dash that leaves a clone, this is EXTREMELY useful as it can be used defensively to either disengage/relocate or offensively to chase further. The clone can eat skills such as Franco's ult, Saber's ult and any other single target CCs. If timed correctly it can screw the enemy up big time.
Ultimate/Violet Requiem: High damage with decent aoe range and superarmor. The superarmor is the most important part as it can be used to resist CC to throw the enemy offguard. It's also half of the reason why Guinevere is so good in 1v1. More about that in the section below. This skill spells certain death if you're good at using it not only on your own knockups but on your teammates's knockups as well. Atlas flicker +ult + Guinevere is kinda hilarious
IV. Builds,Emblems, spells: š· Either use the Mystery Shop or Magic Worship. Both are fine , it's up to you which one you want. I've been using the bag mostly but i've recently switched to magic worship as it makes you a bit more unpredictable. š· The second build is her main build in this current meta. You need a complete understanding of how the items in this game work both for yourself and your enemy and you need to know what you're building and why. Core items:
Concentrated Energy: Gives you everything you want. Tons of lifesteal which has great synergy with her, heal on kill which helps if you're in the heat of the fight as there's probably more enemies coming. Extra HP which makes you tankier.
Holy Crystal: literally everything Guinevere has scales with magic power so you want to get the most magic power possible
Divine Glaive: all your damage is magic damage so you should almost always build this item. Depends on the enemy or on the role you're trying to fill though.
Situational items:
Genius wand: If you're against a bunch of squishy people or they don't build magic def, you should always build this. If you plan on being a backline threat this is your most important item. (and its almost always your first item but you can sell it mid-late game)
Arcana shoes: If you're against a bunch of squishy people or they don't build magic def, you should always build this. (you can sell/change those shoes for something else if you're not using genius wand and if you have divine glaive)
Calamity Reaper: This is the perfect item for Guinevere however she kinda doesn't really have room for this item and it's not needed against squishy enemies. It's only good against fighters/tanks and for the most part those hardly pose any threat to you. Its still a great item but it's situational at best.
Winter Truncheon: the biggest flaw Guinevere has is that she cant fight around enemy towers very well and she can't finish the game. This item kinda helps you with this. You can force tower dives/engages and then freeze yourself.
Any tank item: you can replace winter's trunch for any tank item and i usually run antique cuirass if the enemy has physical threats instead of winter trunch.
Understand how defense works. It's complicated but the short version is this : if they're using any emblems that arent fightetank and if they have no defense items then genius wand+ your emblems + arcana shoes gives you about 50 penetration and their defense is at most around 35-40 which means that having arcanashoes+genius wand gives you over 50% dmg increase. If they have any defense items and you want to kill them then you need Divine Glaive and you can just get rid of genius wand. However, most adcs/mages dont really have room for defense items so you'll most likely be fine with using this item. As for the build order, you want to start with as much damage as possible before you build defense Without damage you're not a threat to anyone My build usually goes like this>
Mystic Container (the 500gold item that gives you magic lifesteal and is a requirement to build Concentrated energy) > 2. Arcana shoes > 3. Genius wand > 4.Holy crystal > now we either finish Concentrated energy or winter truncheon > the rest depends on the game itself.
Spell:Vengeanceš· If you cannot play with vengeance there is no reason to play Guinevere. This is BY FAR the best spell for her. It's the spell that makes or breaks you. Remember the part where we said that Guinevere doesn't work well with defensive items? Well vengeance is here to fix that. This spell is extremely overpowered it single-handedly counters half of the game. Heroes like Aamon or even Dyrroth are completely demolished by your vengeance, they can't 1shot you and they die if they try to. Guinevere has incredible mobility because of her passive and her two dashes in her 2nd skill, you can always stay in your enemy's face which means either they have to fight you back (in which case you just use vengeance and they die) or they can die trying to run away. Vengeance is your answer to one of your biggest weaknesses and timing your engages around your spell cooldown and your spell usage is absolutely CRUCIAL. You need to understand how vengeance works and you need to use it before you get hit by a high damaging ability. Lastly, in the team fight phase when the enemy starts grouping there will be scenarios where you land a jump on 1 or two people but the other 2-3 are free and can now kill you if you use your ultimate. Vengeance is there to prevent that. You can use vengeance during your ultimate and it'll make you extremely tanky so you can actually live. Flicker Flicker was changed recently and it actually works with her jump, if you get good at using Flicker you can probably do some crazy and unexpected stuff but in my opinion there's no need for it. You simply lose too much by not using vengeance and even if there are some cheesy combos flicker can probably give you, i don't think it's worth it. Purify A viable option actually but why use purify when you can use vengeance?? Execute š· Do not use execute on Guinevere. Execute is a spell for characters who lack damage in their burst combo like Kagura early game. She needs execute to secure kills or to 1shot people with her combo before she gets items but Guinevere does not have such problems. If you're lacking damage to secure a kill as Guinevere then you're either playing her wrong or your build is wrong. Guinevere does NOT lack damage as she has infinite damage in her basics/passive/first skill with super low cooldown. Do NOT use Execute on Guinevere. It is by far one of the worst spells for her and i do not know why it is meta. Every single time i've tried using execute i felt completely naked and extremely weak. If you were conditioned to use Execute then as any drug there might be withdrawal symptoms when you stop using it but it will be worth it. This is NOT a good spell. Execute is a spell for people who want to steal kills to boost their kda/ego or whatever. In terms of efficiency it is not even remotely worth it on almost any character and on Guinevere using execute is akin to trolling. Guinevere does NOT lack damage. V. Laning phase:General tips, playstyle and understanding for the laning phase: You NEED to play aggressive. You cannot play Guinevere passive, if you do then you're not maximizing her potential. Playing aggressive has ups and downs and is hard to do and at the beginning you might get your ass kicked but after this you gain confidence that feels good. Guinevere's lore and appearance actually completely fit her playstyle. Her playstyle is graceful and if i had to use a single word to describe her it would be finesse. Laning with Guinevere is a balancing act between aggression and passivity. The word finesse is perfect to describe her. Understanding your strengths: your ability to dash around like a lunatic is something that other fighters can just dream of. Your playstyle revolves entirely around making your enemy confused and look around. You need to constantly force 'trades' with her and constantly force your opponent to play the game. As i said in the previous segment, learning to use your passive is the key and here's why its the key.
always have your passive bar full and if you're about to use your passive then make sure you fill it as soon as possible. NEVER leave your lane or the wave without a full passive. You need to always have it ready in case a fight happens. During the laning phase, you need to consistently poke with your passive and you cannot use your passive on minions unless your enemy is defensive or you're trying to push.
every time you use your passive you need to use your first skill, tap on your first skill and it will hit your target. Your passive combined with your first skill does tremendous amount of damage and it slows the enemy. Your first skill cannot miss after your passive. Every time you hit your passive you need to follow it up with your first skill.
the second part of your second skill is primarily a disengage tool. It's a great poke tool. Starting from level 2, every time you have your jump up you should do this > Fill passive on minions > jump at your enemy (it does not matter if you miss, just jump near them) > use your passive and your first skill > disengage with the 2nd part of the 2nd skill. Once you learn how to do this you will gain massive advantage in your laning phase because your enemy cannot fight back. Remember, it's okay if you miss your jump - the important part is to land your passive and your first skill
You have crazy sustain - use it: it is worth taking a trade in which you lose 60% of your hp while the enemy loses only 40% because you can heal and they can't. Keep forcing trades, as long as you don't die there's no bad trades. They can't heal, you can.
Be careful on level 1. If anyone tries to fight you and all-ins you, use vengeance. Try to push the wave before they can so you can get lvl 2 before them. Playing agro is a requirement in most 1v1s. Don't get killed on level 1 when you have no jump but do note that you actually beat almost everyone even on level 1 so you should know what you're doing. You can be scared but that does not mean you should be passive. Be brave.
You don't need to hard push the lane if the enemy is there - if your enemy is there but is not engaging you, you can just zone them out so they cant farm or be in range of the xp. You don't need to force push the lane unless they're not there. If they are not there your priority should be to farm the yellow shield on the tower cus that will snowball you a lot.
As i said earlier, your entire laning phase is a balancing act between aggression and defense. Every time your passive is up you need to be looking for an in because your passive with your first skill after it will get you ahead but that does not mean you should be reckless. Don't fight unless you have your cooldowns and you can either get out of the fight or get your enemy killed. Know when to all in and when to poke (and get out with your dashes). It's perfectly fine to take a step back and let the enemy use their skills then engage them. You need to learn to use the "attack minion "or attack hero buttons appropriately and that's a must have skill. Sometimes you will have passive and you will want to use it on the minion in order to move/reposition or confuse the enemy and not engage directly on them. At the start it might take some getting used to but when you see the rewards you can gain from pressing the attack minion button you'll love it and you'll start doing it without needing a guide to tell you. Remember that your passive is a dash and you can dash to minions as well.
You actually have crazy poke - (and yes you're a melee character) - i'm just gonna repeat it > fill passive, jump near your enemy (or on top of them, whatever) > passive hit > first skill > disengage with second part of your dash. This has insane range (more than any mage's actual poke cus you combine 2 dashes together for this) and it does high damage (especially once you get items). I repeat it because its important
A must know skill for tower diving - if you land your jump there's an animation lock which leaves you vulnerable. If you miss your jump on purpose and you do passive > first skill there's no such animation lock. If your enemy is tower hugging and they're on low hp and you can finish them off, you can do that without even trying to aim your jump. This way you can get hit by 1 or 2 less tower hits and knowing this is important.
Starting from level 4 - anyone that can't burst you down is your prey. 3 marks and ult is guaranteed 50% of their hp with a CC during which you heal. Your enemy needs to 100-0 you. You only need to 100-50% them then you just ult them and they're dead without being able to move. Unless they're playing a fighter with purify or something. Be mindful of your marks. Passive + first skill combo is 2 marks, you fill your passive in a few hits more = 3 marks. All this happens within a second or two, if your enemy can't kill you in that time then you get your ult on them. Your clone from 2nd part of 2nd skill leaves a mark on the enemy. If someone jumps you and you use your clone and do first skill + passive you can just ult, they will have 2 marks on them and the clone will put a 3rd mark on them and as soon as that happens your ult will lift them up in the air.
Use your superarmor (your ult makes you immune to cc) - understanding this is a key to most of your fighter matchups is knowing when to use it. For example against Chou if he uses his first skill to get next to you, just use your ult - now he either has to run away in which case he'll get free damage on him or he ults you and does nothing and gets even more free damage. Don't be afraid to use ur skills. Don't be afraid to cancel your ultimate to do passive > first skill. You will lose some damage from your ult but you'll do a lot more with the passive/first skill combo and you'll also heal + move near your enemy. The ult's main function is the CC ,the superarmor and filling your passive bar.
Matchups: Easy difficulty matchups:
Any non fighters on exp lane - free win , especially if its an adc or some clown like that
Balmond - he does no damage to you (unless you're standing still) and you outdamage him, he's pathetic and on lvl 4 he's a free kill.
Chou- You hard counter him. Start playing agro from level 1 and if he tries to fight back use vengeance. Now he's on 50% hp and possibly without flicker while you heal up 5 seconds from the wave. Do NOT play passive vs Chou, offense is the best defense.
Alpha - just bully him, you out-sustain and outdamage him. On lvl 4 if they try to fight you back you just stack your marks and kill them with ult.
Aldog - lmao please. Play hyper aggressive vs this kid
Zilong - just bully him, you out-sustain and outdamage him. On lvl 4 if they try to fight you back you just stack your marks and kill them with ult.
Ruby - once upon a time she used to counter you. Ruby is a top tier waifu as well but she has absolutely no chance vs Guinevere now. You outsustain and outdamage her. Play agro and don't let her farm.
Alucard - just bully him, you out-sustain and outdamage him. On lvl 4 if they try to fight you back you just stack your marks and kill them with ult
Argus - just bully him, you out-sustain and outdamage him. On lvl 4 if they try to fight you back you just stack your marks and kill them with ult. Do note that he can purify your ult with his own ult so you may need some finesse for this.
Leomord- just bully him, you out-sustain and outdamage him. On lvl 4 if they try to fight you back you just stack your marks and kill them with ult. He is stationary during his 2nd skill which makes it very easy to land your jumps.
Badang- just bully him, you out-sustain and outdamage him. Play agro and on lvl 4 if you're low hp just be careful that he doesn't ult you. You outdamage him and your ult does more damage.
Silvanna- just bully her, you out-sustain and outdamage her . On lvl 4 if they try to fight you back you just stack your marks and kill them with ult. Don't face-tank her spiral strangling stuff, just move to the side and wait for it to end after that jump her.
Phovenus- just bully him, you out-sustain and outdamage him. On lvl 4 if they try to fight you back you just stack your marks and kill them with ult.
Paquito- this matchup is the same as Chou. Play hyper agro and if they try to fight back use vengeance and now they have no sustain and are low hp while you can heal urself from the minions and they can't do anything.
Julian - play hyper agro vs him before lvl 3 , on lvl 3 pretend like ur scared and on lvl 4 when u get ur ult just kill him
Lapu Lapu - he might be a scary beast monster mid-late game fighter killer flanker tanker with 30 trillion damage but did you know that he's actually pathetic early game and Guinevere completely demolishes him? he has absolutely no chance against you unless you're literally afk or you're super passive and let him free farm. On lvl 4 he is a bit harder to kill but he should not pose any threat to you by himself.
Xborg - wait for his flame to end then hard engage and repeat, he can't do anything to you unless you're facetanking all of his flames and let him stack his true dmg
Minsithar - just bully him, you out-sustain and outdamage him. On lvl 4 if they try to fight you back you just stack your marks and kill them with ult. Did you know his ult does not stop your passive? Cool right!?
Masha - just bully him, you out-sustain and outdamage him. On lvl 4 if they try to fight you back you just stack your marks and kill them with ult. Masha's ult breaks CC but does not break Guinevere's knockup so you actually kinda hard counter her. She CAN kill you if you're not careful though.
Yin - just bully him, you out-sustain and outdamage him. On lvl 4 if they try to fight you back you just stack your marks and kill them with ult. If he does take you to the arena with his ult and if you're scared you can always use your own ult to resist his stun and then move away from his Frenzy Strike. After this he's a free kill. This is a very easy matchup and unless you're grossly misunderstanding the interaction between the two characters, you should be demolishing him.
Medium difficulty matchups:
Bane - you can't really kill him because of his healing and range, that's annoying because you want to kill them but this char won't really have a reason to fight with you
Jawhead - He's easy but if you get knocked up without any minions around you he can 1shot you. Your ult counters his ult but if you're not payin attention you can die
Thamuz - He can kill you if you're negligent and on lvl 4 he's not that easy to kill with his new buffed ult. He can still die if he's not full hp when you engage tho but you're still much stronger than him cus he has no sustain before lvl 4. Play agro but don't overstay your welcomes, hit and run and gain advantage with ur sustain.
Yu zhong - can be an easy matchup as long as you can play Yu Zhong yourself and understand how the hero works. Do NOT take prolonged engages with him unless your vengeance is up and he's about to die. He can both outdamage and outsustain you if you have dumb engages. Be careful on lvl 1. You can bully him starting lvl 2 but on lvl 1 he's stronger than you. From lvl 4 and ahead you should demolish him
Dyrroth - this can be one of your biggest headaches if you mess up your early game. He can kill you on lvl 1-2 if you mistime your vengeance or if he has vengeance himself. You need to properly time your vengeance in your trades with him and do not be afraid. IF he has no vengeance and he engages you and if you use your vengeance correctly, he will die. Once you're ahead he's pathetic. He hurts but if you know your limits then he only poses a threat to you IF you're behind and during the mid game if he goes for flat penetration and +magic def. You'll have a build disadvantage until you build divine glaive at that point. This isnt matchup related tho its item related and general knowledge.
Freya - she can kill you especially if she uses inspire and if your engage is dumb. Hit and run and shes pathetic, you outsustain her and on lvl 4 you beat her
Sun - His clones always take priority from your auto targeting for whatever reason so that can be annoying. He's pathetic but he can kill you if you're negligent and he can play fairly safe. You both kinda counter each other so its a skill matchup
Hilda - technically she has advantage on you but at some point you outdamage and outsustain her. As good as her sustain is, yours is better. Your CC is better and your mobility is better. You should play agro against her but dont full tank her skill, disengage when shes using her skill and engage when she has no skill. Pay attention to her build as this will tell you how to play. Use vengeance if you're engaging her and if she starts stacking her marks on you before she ults you. It can be a hard matchup if you're inexperienced but if you're experienced its fine.
Gatotkaca - play agro, when he gets red bar on his passive take a step back and let him hit the minions then play agro again. He's easy as long as u dont facetank all his passive hits. Requires some finesse.
Martis - He has no sustain so you need to play agro but at the same time he can kill you if you stay in his face , especially when he stacks his passive. You can't be afraid of him because if you are he'll just be stronger but you also can't take him as a joke or you'll die. Time your prolonged engages around his skill cooldowns and bait his skills with your own skills. Don't play passive.
Kaja - range + annoying passive. He can't do anything to you but you can't do anything to him if he's playing defensive and on lvl 4 he can try to pull you on tower. He's too tanky now
Khaleed - he's easy but he has very high damage and if you're negligent and you dont understand his damage then you might actually die, which is bad. Don't take prolonged engages when you know his skill is up. Don't play passive.
Fredrinn - he's absolutely pathetic but he's too tanky and on lvl 4 he gets annoying. You can kill him if they're bad but if they're not bad it becomes a draw and you dont really like draws, you like winning.
Hard Difficulty/Impossible matchups:
Terizla - that dude is like the god of exp lane. You cant do anything. Just flame your team and go afk He can wave clear too easy and he has 0 reason to fight you. He has better aoe than you, better early game and he's too hard to kill. You can't kill Terizla until you get like 3 items with Calamity reaper. At that point he's completely useless against you but this is like 10 minute later. He'll slow your farming too much and you wont be able to snowball. The best way to play against Terizla is not to play against Terizla. Gank his team then 5v1 him or something.
VI. Advanced gameplay tips and behaviors: I've covered most of this under the laning tips as most of the tips there will be applied to the whole game but this is either advanced stuff or for outside of the laning phase.
use your brain , Guinevere isn't a boar hero it's a super princess that's made of brains and magic and finesse
Since i said you should use your brain that means if you land your jump do not use your ultimate straight away. The combo is like this:
jump combos Jump > Passive and/or first skill > Ultimate. (you can do both passive and first skill before your ult if you're fast enough/if your MS is low) If you're not fast use ONLY the passive or the first skill after your jump and then the ultimate. If your enemy has no purify/dashes or superarmor and you know what you're doing the combo is this: Jump > Passive > First skill > Ultimate. It does not matter if they fall to the ground, you will get 3 marks so you can just do this and then ultimate them. never use jump > Ult. Always add in more hits before that, this is half of your damage. The only cases in which you can justify jump > ult is if you're about to get hit by a car and you dont have time to do passive so you do jump and immediate ult for the superarmor. You do NOT need to use your ult on the enemy the moment they get in the air if your enemy has no dashes/mobility. You can ult them whenever you like if you get 3 marks. no jump combos No jump combo can be like > Passive > first skill > basic attacks until another passive > Ult. Obviously. This works against anyone who cant 1shot. Don't panic and don't rush to spam your skills, you control the pace of the fight cus you're the one with mobility and run away/chase down potential. This is essential for mid-late game or for finishing/chasing people/tower diving: It's okay to not land your jump. You can use the 2nd skill for mobility only. Mid-late game the main way you will fight/engage is to completely ignore the front line and jump > Passive onto the enemy adc or mage > first skill > Ult> passive again as soon as your ult fills your passive gauge. This will kill anyone that doesn't have tank items, requires no aiming, is fast to cast and hard to keep track of for the enemy, you're in super armor and on top of all this if they do focus you - you can use vengeance. You also have the second part of your jump to disengage if needed or chase further. I can't stress this enough, this paragraph here is the key to playing Guinevere in team fights. Passive onto enemy > first skill > Ult > passive. The jump is irrelevant. If you land a jump that's great and its a free kill but its not your core gameplan. Your ult can be used as an extension for a lot of the CCs in this game > Identify your teammates > If they have knockups and if you're around them in a fight know that you can ult as a followup if needed. Your ult has insane aoe damage so if you can just get between the enemy carries and use it , you'll most likely just win the fight. If the enemy carries have no magic def and if you have full magic pen build then you'll just kill anyone just by being there. You can use your 2nd skill to position yourself next to your enemy and then just do ult > passive onto whoever you want. Adjust your builds mid game All fighters need to constantly change their builds to fit the game, Guinevere is no exception. There are games where Calamity reaper is useless and there are games where it will make or break you. There are games where you need to hard dive so winter trunch is good and there are games where you just need to protect your ranged characters so winter trunch is useless if you're not tower diving. Always take the lord if you're ahead Guinevere's main weakness is that she can't fight around towers or tower dive. Guinevere's main strengths are her sustain and her auto attack damage - > this just means you can take the lord for free. If your enemy is playing defensive/sitting near towers then just force lords (You can solo them). If your enemy leaves their tower to contest lord then stop doing the lord and chase your enemy and kill them without those pesky towers saving them, if they don't come then take the lord for free. It's okay to reset/restart the lord, you don't lose hp. Split pushing While i generally would not recommend split pushing, there are games in which Guinevere split push is awesome cus she is extremely strong in 1v1 if played correctly so nobody can really stop you. At the same time she has crazy mobility so its extremely hard to gank her. If you have good map sense or you know what you're doing then split pushing is pretty viable on her. Flank your enemy/hard engage on their carries I generally would advice against suiciding but if the enemy mage/adc is trying to poke and are a bit out of position then you can easily use a no-jump-ult combo to 1shot them, even if you die it can be worth it depending on the resources expended by the enemy team for this. As much as i hate dying, fighters sometimes need to do it for the greater good. Your poke is relatively safe and you can actually poke people even on towers, this adds to map pressure which is key to winning Remember the jump > passive > first skill> Disengage with 2nd part of the jump from earlier? Yeah well now into the mid game where you have genius wand+holy crystal + conc energy, you can literally legit do this to people on their tower and they'll lose 40-50% of their hp and you can heal in 2 hits. The downside is that your jump has fairly long cooldown but its a tool that you have in your disposal and since you're very fast they can hardly even do anything about it. Everything is auto aim. learn to use vengeance It's autowin against half of the chars in the game. Passive > first skill > vengeance = any adc is dead, they do nothing. I love Guinevere but without this spell she isn't as good as some other fighters are. With it she is the best fighter. I'll stop here, do note that i have a lot of experience with her now so if you're just starting out you may not understand how/when to poke or play agro or use vengeance but once you master it , it's totally worth it. She's the best waifu and she's very fun to play, no mana bullshit to deal with and no need to recall cus you heal like crazy , whats not to like? I have a lot of footage actually and was planning on making a montage of cool Guinevere stuff but i never got around to doing it. I can answer any questions related to best waifu. I may have forgotten some things cus i wrote this guide while im at work but i wanted to get this off my chest. I've spent 32857298572985$ for her in two different games so what's a few hours of my life and a few of my braincells for a guide? Say what you want about moonton but at least they gave us this top tier waifu
2023.01.28 21:10 Burnedout1995How to keep regulator from freezing overnight?
Hi, I just bought a house in Northern California. It's been getting about 28 degrees at night here. I have a 256 gallon propane tank that I own. It's filled to about 85%. The problem is that it does not run after 9 pm. The air goes cold and then eventually stops cycling all together. I can't get it to kick back on until 9 am the next day when the sun hits the tank. The tank itself is ancient. I have no idea how old that thing is. But the regulator was replaced not even a year ago. I notice frost on the regulator in the morning but can't figure out how to keep it warm at night. I've wrapped it with towels and blankets like the tech said and it did nothing. He mentioned it was made of plastic and should be replaced. This is my first time having propane. Everything shuts down at night. The water heater pilot goes out. The stove flame gets very low. Then the heat runs cold. There's no plug to put an electric blanket on it and I don't want to do that anyway. Any ideas? It's fine if it's warmer here. Just started happening maybe 2 weeks ago. I've been having to use a space heater at night.
I have a 210 Gallon aquarium using two 300w heaters and they are connected via an INKBIRD 306A controller. Sometimes it will run continuously for more than 10-20 hours a day to achieve temps of 78 degrees. Would it be cheaper on electricity to add a third heater, or increase the wattage of the heaters?
2023.01.28 21:03 Salty-Dragonfly2189Where is a reputable site I can get ghost pepper seeds?
Iāve been having a hard time finding ghost pepper seeds in stores so I have been looking online but I am kind of wary of getting pepper joeād. Iāve been growing peppers for decades but never any super hots. These will be in 10 gallon pots in a green house because I have a short outdoor growing season (zone 4A ~June 1st-October 1st).
